An apple company, born in the mountains
Nature'sNest began in 2007 in the apple heartland of Shimla, working with a handful of growers in Rohru. Two decades on, we source exclusively from Himachal Pradesh — across Shimla, Kullu, Kinnaur, Mandi, Chamba and Sirmaur — and move that fruit through our own packhouses to markets across India.
Our conviction is simple: when growers are treated fairly and fruit is handled with care from the first mile, everyone downstream gets a better apple. That belief shapes every facility we build and every farmer we partner with.

The boy from Jimu
Long before boardrooms and balance sheets, there were apple trees. Growing up in Jimu, a small village in Alcanterio, Shimla district, the future Chairman of Narkanda Agro Fresh Producer Co. Ltd. learned the rhythm of the hills the way most children learn to walk — through the orchard, alongside his family's apples, cherries, apricots, plums, and pears.
That rhythm never left him. Even today, decades and a continent later, he still farms that same land in Jimu himself — apples first, but also cherries, apricots, plums, and pears, exactly as he did as a boy.
A detour through Melbourne
But the story took a detour first — one that shaped everything that came after.
After finishing his 10+2 in 1994, he pursued a degree in Hotel Management from IHM Kufri, Shimla, before setting his sights further still — training at ACTH Institution in Melbourne, Australia, and picking up diplomas in Food Safety Management, Hazard Management, Cookery, and Continental Food along the way.
Melbourne became his proving ground. He rose through some of the city's most demanding kitchens — Sous Chef, then Executive Chef at Ridges Hotels; Head Chef at Aroma Bakery, catering for Spotless and the Melbourne Cricket Ground itself, cooking for crowds at one of the world's great sporting arenas; and later, Area General Manager at the Retros Group, overseeing hospitality operations thousands of miles from Jimu.
Coming home
It would have been easy to stay. Instead, he came home.
He brought Melbourne's discipline — food safety, hazard management, hospitality-grade standards — back to the hills that raised him, and turned it toward the very orchards his family had always tended. Today, he leads Narkanda Agro Fresh Producer Co. Ltd. as Chairman, and serves as President of the Federation of FPCs Himachal Pradesh, representing 30 farmer producer companies and over 13,332 farming families across the state — a role built entirely on trust earned the hard way, one orchard at a time.
A farmer, first
He also directs Nature Nest Empower Foundation, an NGO, and Nature's Nest India — and beyond that, runs a small constellation of local Himachal businesses close to home: Bhagat Filling Station, Basera Home Stays, and Poonam Cold Storage, where he serves as CEO, alongside Young Apple Fruit Agency (YAFA) — a hands-on operator, not just a name on a letterhead.
But ask him what he is, first, before any title — and he'll tell you simply: a farmer. Still growing apples, cherries, apricots, plums, and pears on the same family land in Jimu that raised him — the same orchard that, one day, sent a boy to Melbourne, and eventually, brought him home to build something lasting for the growers around him.
